Sentek Dynamics’ THV Series Environmental Test Systems
Looking for a way to combine temperature, humidity and vibration testing? Then look no further than the Sentek Dynamics’ THV Series environmental test systems. Sentek Dynamics’ THV Series environmental test systems offer a turn-key solution for product development and reliability improvement. This combined testing method, also known as The Department of Defense’s AGREE (Advisor Group on Reliability of Electronic Equipment) method of testing combines three testing environments (temperature, humidity and vibration) in one chamber. The THV Series provides a complete and fully integrated environmental test system to meet the ever-changing reliability, qualification and ESS (Environmental Stress Screening) test requirements for a wide-range of industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics and medical.
The THV Series offers a major advantage over other manufacturer’s chambers in that it uses the Crystal Instruments’ Spider-100 controller. The Spider-100 is based on the proven Crystal Instruments’ Spider Series of vibration controllers and precisely controls all aspects of a combined temperature/humidity and vibration test regime where the device under test (DUT) is subjected to simultaneous temperature cycling, variable humidity and vibration. The Spider-100 features graphical guidance, wizards, tools to simplify test setup and versatile report generation. Data collection is accomplished using four analog input channels (expandable to eight) for vibration, eight 4-20 mA inputs for temperature, ten 4-20 mA inputs for humidity and twenty-four opto-isolated input channels. Two output channels are provided for vibration control.
Sentek Dynamics’ THV Series environmental test systems are adaptable to your needs. They can be used standalone for temperature or temperature and humidity, or for combined temperature/humidity and vibration test requirements. THV Series chambers are seamlessly integrated with Sentek Dynamics’ electrodynamic air and water-cooled vibration testing systems. This is accomplished with a removable floor/diaphragm using one of three configurations. These are: 1) Direct connection where the chamber floor and shaker armature (or slip table) connect directly; 2) Chamber and shaker connect through a plug or extension between the chamber floor and shaker armature (or slip table); and 3) Chamber floor and shaker connect through a head expander mounted on the shaker armature.
ESS, or its subsets HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Testing), typically requires a wide-variety of resources such as measuring instruments, switching systems, computer plug-in cards, and other data acquisition needs. Each of these pieces of equipment must be selected for accuracy, reliability, repeatability, measurement integrity, and ease of use. Furthermore, they must be tightly and quickly integrated in a test setup that identifies problem issues and critical flaws in a new product early in the design phase, to reduce time to market. The product design team and system integrator must also consider the effort required to develop test application software for the system, as this can be a time consuming effort and slow the time to market. The solution to this and other related time-consuming tasks is the selection of a Sentek Dynamics THV Series environmental test system. The Spider-100 controller provides closed-loop control for precise control of temperature/humidity and vibration, and data recording. No other controller on the market offers this capability! With Sentek Dynamics’ THV Series environmental test systems DUTs experience prescribed vibratory motion (Sine, Random or transient or a combination of any of these) while being subjected to a user defined temperature and humidity environment.
