Combined Testing with Chambers
Temperature, Humidity, & Vibration Testing Software
The EDM (Engineering Data Management) software platform developed by Crystal Instruments includes Temperature, Humidity, and Vibration (THV) Testing software, which is a key element of the Sentek Dynamics THV Series AGREE (Department of Defense Advisor Group on Reliability of Electronic Equipment) chambers. These chambers provide combined temperature, humidity, and vibration testing in addition to environmental and reliability testing for a wide variety of aerospace, automotive, medical, commercial, and independent test lab applications. Temperature, humidity, and vibration levels are controlled with high accuracy and are synchronized to simulate the actual physical environment products experience in the field.
The EDM THV testing software synchronizes a chamber controller and any dedicated Crystal Instruments’ vibration test controller, which ranges from 2 to 512 channels. The two controllers can operate separately or in sync as one combined system controller to perform combined temperature, humidity, and vibration testing.
The EDM THV testing software provides one central location to set up parameters and a schedule between all three environments, with or without a connected controller. The powerful import and export features allow users to easily transfer test configurations between computers.
Users can execute and report vibration tests such as Random, Sine, Shock, SoR, RoR, etc. combined with various cycle settings of temperature and humidity. Test operations, saved file access, and report generation are all integrated into one user interface.
When EDM is operating a combined system controller, a PC or tablet connected to the same network (wirelessly or wired) with the controller can monitor the test status through the EDC chamber controller software interface.
When vibration testing is not required, the EDM or EDC software can perform temperature and/or humidity testing without participating in vibration testing.

EDM Extensions is a set of features that integrate external devices with EDM VCS software or provides additional tools. An EDM Extension establishes the connection between EDM and an external device over a computer IO to allow EDM VCS software to operate the external device, display data from the external device, monitor the status of the external device, or automate a vibration test according to the data or the state of the external device.
The following list of external device types are supported by EDM Extensions.
CAN BUS: supports multiple channels
Video capture: supports video camera for real-time visual monitoring and recording
Temperature/Humidity chambers
Charge cabinet
Water chiller
Data acquisition systems
Temperature/Humidity/Pressure chambers
High voltage source
Low voltage source
